As we prepare for our 2020-21 French Immersion application process, the YCDSB has decided this year to host a Central Parent Information Evening for parents of students in SK who are considering the French Immersion Program in Grade 1. This event will be held on December 2, 2020, at 7 pm and will be live-streamed via the YCDSB Youtube channel. Please see the attached flyer.
The presentation that evening will include the French Immersion program as a whole, and will address information such as transportation, secondary panel education & career pathways in French Immersion.
SK families must apply for French Immersion in order to secure a place in the FI program. SK’s with siblings in French Immersion higher grades are not exempt from the French Immersion application process, and must apply for their SK child, in order for them to be considered for the program.
The on-line application process will open on December 3rd, 2020, and will close on January 22, 2021. If required, a Lottery will take place on Thursday January 28, 2021 at 2021.
