As a Catholic community, we are united in faith and prayer, especially in times of need. Frank Cardinal Leo, Archbishop of Toronto, has asked the faithful to join him in prayer for Pope Francis, who has been hospitalized at Gemelli Hospital in Rome since February 14, 2025. His Holiness is currently suffering from pneumonia and mild kidney failure.

In his message, Cardinal Leo urges us to pray for God’s gracious and healing hand to restore the Holy Father to good health. Whether in personal reflection, in our homes, schools or gathered together in our parish communities, let us unite in faithful intercession for Pope Francis.
The Cardinal encourages schools to ask for the intercession of the Blessed Mother by praying one Hail Mary each morning for the Holy Father’s recovery.
Cardinal Leo also invites everyone to take a moment to say the following prayer for Pope Francis:
“O merciful and loving God, fountain of all grace and source of eternal healing, be with our Holy Father as he faces this battle with illness. Surround him, O Lord, with boundless compassion and strengthen his spirit so that he may regain the health needed to continue to lead your flock with a father’s heart. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.”
May our collective prayers comfort and strengthen Pope Francis. Let us continue to trust in God’s mercy and the intercession of Our Lady as we pray for our Holy Father’s full recovery.
